Exigence refers to the issues or problems that push an individual to want to write or speak. It is the major reason behind a person’s speech or writing since the individual would feel that his or her discourse would address the issue. It brings forth a sense of argument and desire to seek answers about a particular issue, event, or problem that arises in an individual’s surroundings. This image could be used to show exigence because although we may not know what this individual was protesting for, there was something that pushed him to get on that megaphone and protest for what he believed.

The exigence for both of my argumentative and expository essay revolved around the idea that members of the LGBTQ+ community don’t get as much recognition as they deserve. it hurts to know that there’s a whole group of people out there that still to this day are discriminated and treated poorly. I know maybe a lot of people aren’t going to see this website but I just wanted to show whoever is viewing this website that they too are beautiful individuals.
